A Town For Plant People (2020)
“A Town For Plant People” was developed as part of the program “Art Residences at Home” of the Cultural Center of Spain in Costa Rica.
Led by the inquiry of the place of plants in society and with vague knowledge of the local beliefs around plants, I observed the surroundings of my home for local species of plants and transplanted them into chairs. With the help of local people from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca I selected the plants and learned how to take care of them. For three months the plants grew around chairs as I documented the process and in order to understand the needs of these organisms.
